Ocreations LLC – Small Design Studio Celebrating BIG THINGS Hosts Pittsburgh's “50 Finest” Fundraiser Party DowntownPITTSBURGH, PA – August 1, 2009 – Ask an average person, “What is Graphic Design?” Nine out of ten won't be able to give you a confident answer. After three and a half years in business, Pittsburgh's 4-man design operation, ocreations LLC has answered that question thoroughly time and time again. With a clientele consisting of the likes of Giant Eagle, Perillo Tours, Edgar Snyderand Sephra Chocolate Fountains in San Diego, CA, the boys at the ‘o' have finally gotten themselves some well-deserved recognition in 2009 (visit ocreations.com for a full client list). Senior partner and Founder, Shawn O'Mara was awarded “Teacher of the Year” at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, where he teaches graphic design and design studio. Jared Dieffenbach stepped up as Creative Director and was featured in the August issue of In Wheeling Magazine (another significant client who plays a big role in ocreations' success). Clemente Miller was recruited as a designer/multimedia websmith extraordinaire – and Jesse Mader, partner and designer was nominated as one of ”Pittsburgh's 50 FINEST” by WHIRL magazine. Dieffenbach, Miller and Mader are all former students of O'Maras at the Art Institute.The mood of the night was instantly set with the excitement of Pirate fans flocking down 6th Street towards PNC Park for an ensuing game against the Nationals. This was only to complement the New York loft appeal of Olive or Twists' 2nd floor lounge – a relaxed, creative atmosphere where ocreations hosted their benefit party to raise money for The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in response to Mader's 50 Finest nomination. Guests included personal friends, family, clients, prospective clients, and curious public wanderers willing to donate $10 at the door. In turn, appetizers, exclusive orange creamsicle cocktails (the official color of ocreations LLC is a vibrant orange) and yuenglings were served ($1 for each of the specials also went to the charity). In between half-hourly raffles for orange-themed prizes, ocreations' apparel and an ipod, guests had the opportunity to pose for a caricature, watch a music-video style portfolio arrangement and view a showcase of the o's latest “creations.”Before handing the iPod over to it's new owner, Mader expressed his gratitude towards everyone in attendance as he stood up on the sticky bartop, garnished with orange peels and empty Yuengling bottles:“To us it is not all about the money. It is about producing quality design and getting noticed. In 2009, good things have begun to happen and our team is proud to show our city what we have been able to accomplish.”At the end of the night ocreations was able to raise over $600 in charitable donations as well as gain some of the exposure and recognition they deserve.Think Different.
