'Pittsburgh's 50 Finest' by the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
Pittsburgh's 50 Finest are featured each year in the August issue of WHIRL Magazine as the city's 50 most eligible men & women. These outstanding single professionals are honored in large part for their activity in the community & success in their careers. They are considered to be some of the most prominent & successful single professionals in the city.
Each of the 50 Finest raises funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation by obtaining sponsors in a tremendous fund-raising effort that culminates with a party attended by 500-750 guests promoted by radio sponsor 96.1 KISS.

Why: To honor Pittsburgh's top single professionals and to bring them together in a team effort to raise much-needed funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. The goal is to top the 2007 record net of close to $211,000 to fight cystic fibrosis, a genetic disease that affects approximately 30,000 young people in the United States, taking the lives of many of those afflicted before the age of 37. CF produces a thick, sticky mucus that clogs the lungs & digestive system, making breathing & digestion difficult & eventually impossible. Since 1989, when researchers made the long-awaited discovery of the gene that causes CF, incredible progress has been made that puts CF research on the brink of a cure.
The CF Foundation is consistently ranked by the Wall Street Journal's SmartMoney magazine as one of the nation's “Best in the Business” for its exceptionally efficient use of fund-raising dollars.
Tickets were $55 in Advance / $60 at the Door - Included pasta & carving stations, fresh salads and vegetable samplings from Palate Bistro, the famous breads of Mancini's Bakery, exquisite chocolate from A Taste of Chocolate, cupcakes from CoCo's Cupcake Café, Bruster's ice cream, three beverages, including beer and Coca-Cola products, & the opportunity to dance the night away to music by Wenning Entertainment & mingle with Pittsburgh's 50 Finest both past & present.
