Bulgarian-Macedonian National Educational and Cultural Center's 80th Anniversary Gala
President Patricia Penka French welcomed guests to the 80th Anniversary Gala of the Bulgarian-Macedonian National Educational and Cultural Center on April 17, 2010.
The Nick and Agnes Markoff Social Hall was the setting for 130 dignitaries and guests who enjoyed Eastern European melodies performed by the Center's strolling musicians. Emcee of the evening, Kenneth Service, Vice President of La Roche College, introduced the Charge D'Affaires of the Embassy of Bulgaria, Washington, DC , Tihomir Stoytchev, and also Mayor John Dindak, Mayor Betty Esper, and the Honorable Harry Readshaw.
A documentary film debut produced by Dana Spiardi and Kamen Bonev highlighted the 80 years of history and the future of the BMNECC.
Original artwork and Bulgarian ceramics, jewelry, performing arts tickets and dinner donations created a lively silent auction that benefited the BMNECC goals of preserving culture and tradition.
