Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater
Pittsburgh's 45th Anniversary and volunteer recognition event was
celebrated on April 22, 2010 at Green Oaks Country Club. CEO, Jan Glick,
welcomed volunteers, board members, staff and special guests to an
evening of shared magical moments. Founder Kenny Ross was honored in a
documentary film. Guest speaker, Lynn Swann, National Spokesperson for
Big Brothers Big Sisters of America and former Pittsburgh Steeler, spoke
of the mission that every child deserves a mentor – someone to look up
to and someone who cares. 2009 and 2010 graduating matches shared the
importance that BBBS has made in their lives. Cheryl Jones, Special
Services Coordinator, Linda Skosnik, Community-based Program Manager,
and Kristine Pace, Match Support Specialist, congratulated the Bigs and
Littles in attendance. Through guidance and friendship Big Brothers Big
Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh volunteer mentors fill a void for
children who are critically in need of stable and supportive bonds with
caring adults. Pittsburgh is one of the leading Big Brothers Big Sisters
