The black-tie gala Friday night began with music, drinks, food and stunning stilt walkers from Cirikli in the village area of the zoo. Event chairs Laura Ellsworth and Bruce Teitelbaum joined honorary chairs Bev and Steve Elliott on the trek to the plaza where a VIP area awaited. After indulging in food stations stocked by local restaurants, guests were on the move again to Water's Edge. There they came upon the Giving Tree, which featured one-of-a-kind zoo experiences in exchange for donations. With wallets lightened, dancing was easy at the final destination, the PNC Pavilion.
