Pittsburgh Wine Festival 2011
The Ninth Annual Pittsburgh Wine Festival took place on May 5th at Heinz Field. This event has earned it's reputation has one of the best for anyone who loves vino! The VIP tasting took place on a more intimate and exclusive scale from 5-7pm. Directly following that reception, the grand tasting from 7-9pm welcomed thousands of people from our region to taste wines from more than 400 wineries around the world (the line to get in stretched along the side of Heinz Field!). The vast selection of fine wines included red, white, rose, sparkling and dessert wines and would have impressed even the most discerning wine enthusiast.
One of the perks of the event is that many of the wine makers were there, allowing guests to ask even the most detailed questions. This may be one of the reasons the event was recently named one of the top ten wine events in the USA by Wine Quarterly Magazine.
