Attack Theatre Dirty Ball 2011
The Dirty Ball is known for revamping industrial, off the beaten path spaces into bumping and grinding discos once the sun goes down. The annual benefit for Attack Theater did not disappoint this year! Held at a warehouse in Lawrenceville, we were greeted with transformative lighting, sea-creature inspired chandeliers and of course, the interactive wall of dirty words. The VIP Velvet Lounge was custom designed by our favorite vintage fashion aficionado, Richard Parsakian.
The highlight was the performance by Attack Theater dancers, this year it had a Pirates theme (I swear I saw Johnny Depp on stage!). The dancers had the entire audience rapt with attention, then bursting into laughter when the show quickly transitioned into a campy rendition of The Village People's "In the Navy". Of course, it wouldn't be The Dirty Ball without some memorable outfits, among them plenty of short shorts, monster makeup and even a viking on roller blades. If that doesn't sum it up for you, I overheard one reveler regretting "I really wish I'd worn my PVC dress!"
