About Knopp Biosciences
Knopp Biosciences is being honored with the Anne Lewis Humanitarian Award for its ground-breaking development of a drug that has the potential to halt the progression of ALS. The ALS Association of Western PA believes that the work of Knopp Biosciences represents the most promising news the ALS community has had in decades. Further, their innovation and leadership is providing much-needed hope to a patient group that so desperately deserves it.
Knopp Biosciences is a drug discovery and development company focused on delivering breakthrough treatments for unmet needs. After its founding as an ALS biomarkers company, Knopp initiated development of a potential ALS treatment known as KNS-760704 (dexpramipexole) through preclinical testing, early manufacturing, regulatory interactions, and Phase 1 and Phase 2 clinical trials. With promising initial results, the drug has entered a global Phase 3 study in partnership with Biogen Idec. In parallel, Knopp is expanding laboratory operations to pursue scientific insights gained from the dexpramipexole program. Knopp aims to serve as an anchor for Pittsburgh's emerging biopharmaceutical industry while continuing the search for innovative medicines.

| Manual Wheelchair |
$600 - 1,200 |
| CoughAssist to Support Breathing |

| Wheelchair Ramp & Home Installation |
$4,000 - 6,000 |
| Speech Generating Computer |
$9,000 - 12,000 |
| Electric Power Wheelchair |
$30,000 - 60,000 |
Last year, $140,000 was contributed to establish this critical fund. Each year, we work to replenish the fund to support needy patients. Contributions to the fund can be made by credit card at the following link:
