VIP patron pre-party to Lights! Glamour! Action!
January 30, 2012VIP patron pre-party to Highmark Presents Lights! Glamour! Action! The VIP patron pre-party to Highmark Presents Lights! Glamour! Action! brought out all the local stars in Pittsburgh on Friday January 27, 2012. The Pittsburgh Film Offices exclusive red carpet was rolled out for the citys top players in the film industry, philanthropists, socialites, and fashionistas. This event was held at none other than J. Verno Studios (which has become a film industry tradition). After a very successful year in Pittsburghs film industry, The Pittsburgh Film Office is ready to celebrate with their 12th annual Academy Awards benefit. And of course, every great awards show has a pre-party for the VIPs. J. Verno Studios itself is a special venue since it serves as the studio for many movies and commercials filmed in Pittsburgh, not to mention any happening event in event in town. Within the trendy and contemporary lounge areas were tables of delicious food from the citys finest restaurants including The Capital Grill, Habitat, Six Penn, Nola, McCormick & Schmicks, Andoras, and many more. And if the treats didnt fill you up, the bars were stocked with the many flavors of Pinnacle Vodka for your favorite martinis. And of course the citys finest dressed to impress as film and fashion go hand in hand. Noteworthy Pittsburghers spotted at the party ranged from Honorary Chairs Dr. Tony and Kate Farah to Politician Melissa Hart. And of course film industry professionals including David Haddad of Haddad Trucking, Nancy Mosser of Nancy Mosser Casting, Donna Belajac of Belajac Casting, Jack Bailey of PMI, Chelsea Danley of The Talent Group, Deb Docherty, Jay Verno himself, The Tribs Kate Guerriero, Robyne Bracco of Pittsburgh Fashion Magazine, and many more Patrons and sponsors of the event. With the tagline of So you want to be in the Movies? the night was filled with entertainment not only from the socializing and networking, but from the planned festivities too. J. Vernos photo booth and props served for entertainment all night as well as the filming of attendees favorite movie moments, where guests got to act out scenes from movies, reading lines from a teleprompter. A silent auction of items from Sammar Accessories and hair styling to keep guests looking good courtesy of Izzazu were also featured. Guests were left with gift bags of memorabilia from Pittsburgh shot One for the Money by the valet. The Pittsburgh Film Office, consisting of Dawn Keezer, Jessica Conner, Steve Bittle, and Jared Pascoe must be proud of all the support. The event was a blast and a success. Now everyone is gearing up to continue the celebration at Highmark Presents Lights Glamour! Action! on February 26, 2012 at Heinz Field. There will be more fun, fashion, food, and a live telecast of the Oscars on the big screen. While were not certain of which picture will win this year, we are certain that this is another event you dont want to miss. For tickets and a complete list of sponsors visit http://www.pghfilm.org./I hope to see you on the red carpet (and in the pictures) of the next big event in town. Stay tuned for coverage on more events around my Hollyburgh and see if youre caught on camera by the Pittsburgh Paparazzi. By: Chelsea L. Danley
