FOR PERSONAL REASONS I MUST TEMPORARILY SUSPEND HOSTING BLUES HACKER GET TOGETHERS
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO HOOK UP WITH ONE ANOTHER, AND I WILL RETURN AS SOON AS POSSIBLE
Started March 14, 2008 and already the biggest group on Pittsburgh Grapevine!
TO ALL MEMBERS
Be sure to check the "forum" page regularly for updates, group activities and other information.
Anyone interested in learning, sharing riffs and tricks, trying out original songs
jamming, composing, etc within the blues music genre.
All instruments, or vocalists are welcome.
These causal get togethers with instruments in hand,
will be in and around the east end
part of town.
ALL skill levels from just knowing the basics,
to being pretty darn good are welcome
(though beginners might be overwhelmed and pros would be bored).
Sit and study other players,
or take a turn showing your chops...
Acoustic, electric, harp, guitar,
percussion, keyboards, it doesn't matter! If you play blues bagpipes, bring it on.
All styles welcome...acoustic, electric, delta, chicago, country, texas, celtic
(ok, I made that one up...Celtic Blues?)
I can host a fair number of folks once a week in my Regent Square house,
or we can round robin that duty.
The Blues Hacker Pledge --
all members must memorize; changes are permitted depending
upon your individual circumstance:
"I pledge allegiance to the Blues of the United States of America;
and though I am lily white and middle aged,
I will do my utmost to rub some funk on it."
Please, no one under the age of 18.
Abusive or derisive comments about someones playing, lack of ability or knowledge will NOT be acceptable behavior...all levels welcome and ENCOURAGED.
Smoking is fine...no drinking during get togethers though we may want to make forays into the Pittsburgh blues scene in which case, I'll be tipping them along with the best
