The Cystic Fibrosis, Couples for a cure.
A Perfect Match
Some couples were made for each other. They finish one another's
sentences, and are often more successful when working together
than apart. On Saturday, a dozen of Pittsburgh's matches made in
heaven were honored for their outstanding philanthropy at the first
Couples for a Cure gala at the Pittsburgh Zoo's PPG Aquarium. To
benefit the local chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Over 200 black-ties indulged in a strolling dinner among the truly
amazing aquariums of fishes and penguins before dancing the
night away to Special Edition.
Chairing the event were Cindy and Bob Feldman, whose son Emery
is bravely battling CF. The other 11 couples were Abbie and Howdy
Emery; Ann and Robin Fernandez; Laura and Claude Kronk;
Alexandra Gruskos and Dr. David Orenstein; Maryann and Ray
Perrotte; Joni and Jon Perry; Greta and Art Rooney; John and Dr.
Laura Pallan-Tippins; Ana Maria and Fanor Vega; Pam and Terry
Wirginis; and Cindy and Geno Levi, who were unable to attend.
