MCG Jazz / An Evening of Pittsburgh Inspited Brazilian Jazz
In honor of Pittsburgh's 250th anniversary and Manchester Bidwell's
40th anniversary, MCG Jazz and UPMC proudly presented an incredible
night with Ivan Lins and the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, with guest
performances by New York Voices and Sean Jones.
This gala event took place on November 14, 2008 at Heinz Hall and
highlighted the rich musical history of Pittsburgh through the
compositions of some of our most notable native sons such as Stephen
Foster, Henry Mancini and Billy Strayhorn.
Brazilian jazz artist Ivan Lins delivers his own exotic blend of
romantic ballads and sultry Latin tunes including a tribute to
Brazilian jazz legend Antonio Carlos Jobim.
